Providence University was the first university in Taiwan to establish a department of Cosmetic Science. It takes pride in its cosmetic demonstration factory and cosmetics examination and research center as well as the following six laboratories: 1.) effectiveness evaluation; 2.) bio-technology; 3.) cosmetics technology; 4) dermatology science; 5) cosmetology clinical and 6.) SPA treatment.
The curricula concentrate primarily on natural science and applied technology. All students take part in practical training within the cosmetics industry and senior students choose one project of product design or development to prepare them for employment or further study.
Students and faculty members work collaboratively in a wide variety of research projects which include cosmetics manufacturing and examination, bio-technology, physiological pharmaceutics, and management.
