Introduction
The Office of General Affairs is the management support division for the entire university and is made up of 7 units- General Affairs Unit, Cashier Unit, Quality Unit, Construction Unit, Purchasing Unit, Environment Protection Unit, Campus Security Team. Its service scope consists of handling post matters, governing campus grounds and parking spaces, allocating public service cars, planning and executing important celebrations, managing university expenditures and income, bookkeeping matters, managing assets, maintaining and restoring university instruments, equipment and public facilities, applying for purchases, security training and accident prevention, promoting and managing laboratory and public security, controlling campus gate and vehicle number, campus security petrol and all types of general campus affairs and services.
The Office has been aggressively promoting its ¡§Save Water Campaign¡¨ in the university, and other measures include saving electricity, sorting garbage, recycling and reusing etc. The university has implemented volunteer training, and environment character education to support its environment education policy. This way, the university¡¦s teaching staff and students will understand more about protecting the environment, making PU a ¡§green¡¨ university and have a sustainable campus environment. In the 2006 academic year, this measure was established and till today has yielded excellent results and PU has become a role model for promoting a sustainable campus in Taichung County.
