Introduction
The university has always deemed international academic interaction as an important development element, and with the university・s international interaction activities, and interaction with other international organizations increasing, PU established the Office of International Affairs which used to be part of the Office of Research and Development. On 1st August 2005, it broke away to become an independent Office and was renamed the :Office of International Affairs;, a first-grade unit that is responsible for all international affairs of the university, and also assists the various university departments to organize international activities.
This Office is responsible for managing the university・s international cooperation and other related matters such as foreign guest liaison and reception, taking care of visa applications for foreign students and scholars, settling them down in Taiwan, organizing and executing academic cooperation with other foreign universities in the areas of contract signing and cooperation matters. The Office strongly encourages professors and students to engage in international academic interaction so as to elevate the university・s academic position in the world.
