The Music Appreciation Room with its triple function of music, books, and films, offers the students of Providence University a privilegein music appreciation and a refined leisure environment.

　　In the Music Appreciation Room, students may listen to various types of music. Programs vary from day to day, and include systematic introductions to music composers and masterworks, as well as to different types of music and performers.The library also provides program guides to help students appreciate the music and performance.

　　Besides the programs mentioned above, the library also accepts requests from the students. Students may request music of their preference or reserve a time for appreciation by e-mail or an appointment form.

　　At present, the library collects five types of musical software: tapes, video tapes, old-fashioned records, Compact Discs, and Laser Discs, and has an adequate supply of the related audio-visual equipment. In theMusic Appreciation Room, besides comfortable furniture, newspapers and periodicals as well as music books and art books in Chinese and other languages , are available. By reading them, students could better appreciate the music they are listening to.
