Thirteen universities from Taiwan are now in cooperation with University of California, Irvine (UCI) in teaching different courses in English. Twenty-three professors and assistant professors from thirteen universities have been chosen by the Ministry of Education to teach in English those subjects such as Business, Management, Tourism, Health Care and Electro Optical for seventeen days.
Dr. Huei-Na Jhou, a professor from Providence University says that in order to enhance students’ International negotiation skill, professors are required to teach their courses in English, at least once.
Dr. Jhou also mentioned that all the participants discussed how to teach professional subjects with the other professors from UCI and they also did a demonstration to one class making sure students understand their field of study. At the end of July, the twenty-three professors and assistant professors came back to Taiwan and shared their first-hand experiences with other professors from all over the country.
