The Roman Catholic Diocese of Taichung with its International Volunteers from Providence University (PU) in collaboration with Footwear & Recreation Technology Research Institution (FRTRI) promotes a project called, "Love of the world.” By riding a bike around the Taiwan through welfare plan quipped with expertise in medical services, education cooperation, community service, volunteers are able to collect 13,698 pairs of shoes which are intended to be sent to the Kingdom of Swaziland this summer.
Dr. Chuan Yi Tang, President of Providence University says that Providence University and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Taichung have been in cooperation for seven years. On July 7, a team of 17 experts consisting of a clergy, teachers, students, physicians, nurses, and businessmen will visit Swaziland, which has the highest number of people with AIDS with the aim of improving its social service program. Their project called Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction hopes to bring more people to support this community outreach program of PU and FRTRI .
Taiwan Catholic Mission Foundations and the medical group from Shalu, together with the people from the community also financially help with the distribution of 320 boxes of shoes to 50 care centers so that the children from the marginalized families in Swaziland can grow in a healthy environment free from diseases.
