Serving others helps student grow! "Service Learning" course at Providence University gains the highest grant from the Ministry of Education for 2 consecutive years.
With the consciencious efforts and talents of our teachers and students, Providence University "Service Learning" course gains a total amount of one million and seventy-five NT dollars.
Ministry of Education strongly encourages all universities to combine academic courses with community service. Students extend the classroom into the community, become part of the international volunteer team and be "Bridge to the World".
Providence University President, Dr. Matthew Yu, emphasizes ¡§learning by doing". Our different departments have done great:
Students in the Department of International Business teach elementary school students about correct financial management;
Students in the holds Informatics Family Camp in the poor area; Foreign Language Teaching Center arranges students to teach English to disadvantaged students ;
Students in the Department of Social Work are international volunteers in northern Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and other countries.
Students who serve not only have the opportunity to learn and grow, but also continue to serve the community after graduating from the university.
