The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony started from Providence University

Providence University held Christmas Lighting Ceremony on the theme Delivering Love on Nov. 29, 2011. The light symbolized the holy light of Jesus, and it would be delivered to all Catholic schools, from elementary schools to universities in Taiwan. After this ceremony, a series of events and activity will follow, such as to give gifts to underprivileged children, and to pass on Jesus' love to those in need, especially the elders and prisoners.

The ceremony started with the performances by the students associations, Light-Salt Club and Sign Language Club. After that, all the participants held each other's hand and sang songs: Walking in the Light and A Starlight Two Thousand Years ago, and then everyone made wishes and prayed. President Chung-Yi Tang concluded that "Let us encourage each other and give our unselfish love to those who need our hands."
