Professor Liang Wen Fang (±ç¤åªÚ) and the six Young Ambassadors from Providence University arrive in Peru on July 17th for a two-weeks cultural exchange. Mr. Huang Rong Guo (¶Àºa°ê), the Representative Officer from the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Peru, picked them up at the airport.
Their hectic schedule begins thereafter. On July 18th and 19th they visit Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, which is the oldest academic institution in Latin America. They are welcomed with a warm hospitality by the Dean of Economics College , Gilermo Socla and Director of International Affairs, Maria Lau. During their stay in Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Providence University Young Ambassadors present local students many Taiwanese cultural lectures on topics such as Chinese language, Tai Chi Quan and Glove Puppetry, aimed at promoting inter-cultural exchange between Taiwan and Peru.
In the morning of July 20th, Providence University Young Ambassadors led by representative officer, Mr. Huang Rong Guo, visit the biggest agricultural university in Peru, Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, with Vice President Jorge Aliaga Gutierrez and Director of Linguistics Center Gordi Llerena. In the afternoon of July 21st, they are invited to present Glove Puppetry in Feria Internacional del Libro de Lima (Peru International Exhibition) which is the biggest Art and Literary Festival in Peru. The next day, they show the local people more fascinating and elegant culture performances, like Tai Chi Fang and Tai Chi Sword Dance performed by the wife of representative officer Huang Rong Guo, Madam Xu Yu Feng (®}¥É»ñ). Our Young Ambassadors perform the cutting edge, Hip-Hop Nezha Dance which has brought the house down.
Founded in 2010, this Cultural Exchange Project is a joint collaboration between Providence University and the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Young Ambassadors from Providence University are well-selected. Indeed, they have done a great job during their stay in Peru. The lectures and performances have been successful at promoting inter-cultural exchange between Taiwan and Peru. Kudos to all of you!
