Chinese Language and Education Center 11th Speech Competition

Twenty-five international students enrolled in the Chinese Language and Education Center (CLEC) participated in the 11th  annual speech contest. This event is a great opportunity for students to develop their confidence in communicating in Chinese as they tell their experiences of Taiwan culture while learning Mandarin. The nine finalists who delivered their speeches wore their country’s traditional attire. The First Place and Second Place awards were given to the contestants from Korea and the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Place awards were given to students from Japan. John Kwock-Ping Tse, Dean of the College of Foreign Language and Literature, congratulated the students and handed out the awards.  Theresa Yu Hsia, CLEC Director, affirmed the teachers’ professionalism and creativity in helping students to learn the language well.
